Shoday Drops Debut Album 'HYBRID': A Fresh Fusion of Street Pop and Afrobeats Mastery

Nigerian rising star Shoday has officially released his highly anticipated debut album, HYBRID, marking a major milestone in his fast-ascending career. Dropped today (February 6, 2026), the 14-track project arrives just as pre-release buzz pushed it to impressive chart positions, including a peak at #6 on Apple Music Nigeria Top Albums ahead of launch.

Shoday, born Shodade Solomon Segun and hailing from Agege, Lagos, blends street pop roots with influences from highlife, R&B, and soul—creating what he describes as his "rawest form yet." The album serves as both an introduction to his world and a bold declaration of evolution, shaped by late-night sessions, hard-earned lessons, and unwavering supporter belief before mainstream spotlight.

HYBRID is anchored by five standout lead singles that showcase his versatility:

“Casablanca” (feat. Ayo Maff)

“Screaming Beauty” (feat. Olivetheboy)

“A1” (feat. Kizz Daniel)

“Shoday Kilode”

“Paparazzi” (feat. FOLA)

These tracks, already hits in their own right, offer glimpses into Shoday's dynamic range—from melodic vibes to high-energy anthems.

The full project features additional collaborations with talents like BhadBoi OML, Pozer, and Taves, delivering a cohesive mix of upbeat, feel-good energy and introspective moments. Early previews highlight tracks like "Glam and Fame," "Joy," "Somebody," and more, blending Afrobeats rhythms with street-smart storytelling.
