Ondo School Assault: Teen Student Remanded Over Severe Eye Injury to 13-Year-Old Female Classmate
An Akure Magistrate’s Court has remanded a 17-year-old secondary school student, Ilesanmi Emmanuel, in a juvenile correctional facility for allegedly assaulting a 13-year-old female schoolmate, leaving her with a severe injury to her right eye. The incident occurred on February 19, 2026, at approximately 7:41 a.m., during a school event at Mooreb Idea Primary and College in Akure, the Ondo State capital. According to police reports, the teenage defendant allegedly struck the victim, Olamide Kadiri, with a metal belt, resulting in serious harm to her eye.
