Police Arrest Ozoro Festival Chief Organiser, Four Others Over Alleged Sexual Assaults on Women
The Delta State Police Command has arrested five individuals, including the chief organiser and community head of the annual Ozoro Festival, in connection with the alleged sexual assault and harassment of young women during the recent event in Oramudu quarters, Ozoro, Isoko North Local Government Area. The suspects, led by Chief Omorede Sunday—who serves as both the community head and chief organiser of the festival—were apprehended alongside four other individuals from the same quarters. The arrests follow widespread outrage sparked by graphic videos that surfaced online, showing incidents of assault and reported rape during the festival.
