The tragic mass shooting occurred on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 (local time), in the remote town of Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia, Canada—a small community of about 2,400 people in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains near the Alberta border.  The incident began around 1:20 p.m. local time with reports of an active shooter at Tumbler Ridge Secondary School. Police arrived to find multiple victims inside the school. The attack extended to a nearby residence believed to be linked to the incident. Authorities confirmed a single suspect (described in some early reports as a woman with brown hair, wearing a dress), with no ongoing threat or additional suspects.
