Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted a businessman in Irawo, Atisbo Local Government Area of Oyo State.
A 10-year-old girl was also injured during the incident which occurred on Monday, May 11, 2026. The victim, Alhaji Wasiu Aleshinloye, was trailed from Kraal Market, Ago-Are, to his filling station and later to his residence, where he was abducted at gunpoint. During the attack, the girl sustained gunshot injuries and was rushed to a hospital for treatment and extraction of pellets. The spokesperson for the State Police Command, Olayinka Ayanlade, who confirmed the incident said it was reported at Tede Division at about 10:20 p.m. “Preliminary investigation revealed that one Alhaji Wasiu Aleshinloye was allegedly trailed from Kraal Market, Ago-Are, to his filling station at Irawo and subsequently to his residence at Irawo, where he was abducted at gunpoint by three armed men to a yet-to-be-identified destination,” the PPRO said.
