  An 18-year-old resident, Yusif Malam-Gwani, has tragically lost his life after drowning in an open water body at Bachirawa, Kwanar Madugu, in Ungogo Local Government Area of Kano State. The incident occurred on Thursday afternoon, prompting a swift response from the Kano State Fire Service following a distress call received from Sulaiman Abdullahi-Tela. According to a statement issued by the Director of the Kano State Fire Service, Alhaji Sani Anas, and signed by the Public Relations Officer, Alhaji Saminu Abdullahi, a rescue team was immediately dispatched from the agency's headquarters to the scene. Despite the rapid deployment, the victim was recovered deceased from the water.
