Anambra Police Exhume Body of 52-Year-Old Man After Cousin Confesses to Murder, Concealing Corpse for Eight Months
Operatives of the Anambra State Police Command have exhumed the corpse of a 52-year-old man, Chinedu Ezeani, eight months after he was allegedly murdered by his 35-year-old cousin, Chukwudalu Ezeani. The incident occurred on August 1, 2025, at about 8:00 pm, when the suspect allegedly killed Chinedu Ezeani at his residence in Afube Village, Amichi. Chukwudalu Ezeani then buried the body in a shallow grave within his own compound in a bid to conceal the crime. The case was initially reported as a missing person incident at the Amichi Police Station. However, detectives from the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Awka, revisited the matter following credible intelligence, leading to the arrest of the suspect. During interrogation, Chukwudalu Ezeani reportedly confessed to the murder and led police operatives to the burial site within his compound, where the remains were exhumed.
