 Benue State has been rocked by two deadly attacks in quick succession, leaving at least seven people dead and several others injured or missing, according to local authorities and eyewitness accounts. In the first incident, suspected armed herdsmen stormed the Entekpa community in Adoka, Otukpo Local Government Area, unleashing gunfire that claimed five lives on the spot. Many residents sustained gunshot wounds and were evacuated to nearby hospitals for urgent care. The local government chairman condemned the assault, noting the attackers inflicted widespread damage before fleeing. Hours later, along the Utonkon–Ojapo/Okpoga route in Okpokwu LGA, gunmen ambushed a commercial vehicle transporting passengers from Oju and Obi LGAs toward southwestern Nigeria.
