Ondo Court Remands Landlady in Custody Over Alleged Poisoning of Tenant’s 3-Year-Old Son
A Magistrate’s Court in Ondo State has remanded a 40-year-old landlady, Nafisat Lateef, in custody over allegations that she poisoned her tenant's three-year-old son following a domestic misunderstanding. The incident occurred on February 4, 2026, around 8:30 a.m., at Omifon in Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State. According to police reports, Lateef allegedly gave the child, identified as Abdulrasheed, a liquid substance suspected to be poisonous. The act reportedly stemmed from an argument between the suspect and the child's mother, Rofiyat (also spelled Rofiat), aged 32, who is Lateef's tenant.
