Senegal almost took the lead in the 5th minute after Pape Alassane Gueye’s header was saved by Yassine Bounou for a corner kick. The early part of the game was well controlled by the Senegalese. In the eighth minute, the Moroccans also had their opportunity to take the lead, but the ball was deflected by a Senegalese defender.
