Capital Importation Soars 75% to $21bn Amid Renewed Investor Confidence

  Nigeria's capital importation has surged to approximately $21 billion in the first 10 months of 2025, marking a significant boost in foreign investment inflows, according to the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole. This figure represents a 75% increase from about $12 billion recorded in the corresponding period of 2024, and a dramatic more than 425% rise from under $4 billion in 2023. The minister disclosed this during the ministry's 2026 budget defense presentation before the Joint House of Representatives Committee on Commerce in Abuja on Wednesday, February 11, 2026.
