The Defence Headquarters said the ongoing joint counterterrorism operations conducted by Nigerian troops and the United States Africa Command have k!lled 175 ISIS terrorists, including a top global operative, during coordinated strikes in North-East Nigeria. Director of Defence Information, Samaila Uba, who disclosed this in an operational update on Monday, May 19, 2026, said the coordinated air and ground strikes commenced a few days ago as part of intensified efforts to dismantle terrorist networks operating within the region.
