Tragedy on Lagos Highway: Two Killed in Midnight Container Truck Collision at Mile 2
A devastating collision between two heavily loaded container trucks claimed two lives in the early hours of Thursday along the Oshodi–Apapa Expressway in Lagos. The incident occurred around midnight at the Cele inward axis near Mile 2, a section frequently plagued by heavy truck traffic linked to Apapa ports. According to a statement from the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), signed by Director of Public Affairs Adebayo Taofiq, the crash involved two 40-foot articulated trucks carrying containers. The impact was severe enough to trap the driver of one vehicle (registration T-392 LA) inside the cab, leading to his death at the scene. The second fatality was a suspected street urchin found within the operational area of the trucks.
