Nigeria Launches National Single Window to Transform Trade and Port Operations
In a landmark move to modernize Nigeria's trade ecosystem, the Federal Government has officially launched the National Single Window (NSW) platform. The initiative, spearheaded under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration, aims to streamline import and export processes, reduce bureaucratic delays, and position Nigeria as a leading trade hub in Africa. The NSW is a unified digital portal that integrates all relevant government agencies—including the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON), Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), and others—into a single electronic system. Traders and stakeholders can now submit trade-related documents, such as import permits, cargo manifests, and regulatory approvals, just once through the centralized platform.
