Gunmen Shoot Tomato Farmer, Abduct Wife in Akure Night Raid

 Suspected kidnappers struck terror in a quiet agricultural community in Akure South Local Government Area of Ondo State on Wednesday night, shooting a tomato farmer and abducting his wife in a brazen home invasion. The incident occurred around 8:45 p.m. at the residence of Mr. Adesida Daniel (also referred to as Daniel Adesida), a tomato farmer in the Isagba Community along Oda Road, Pelebe axis. According to eyewitness accounts and police confirmation, the armed assailants invaded the couple's home while they were outside. When the farmer attempted to resist the abduction of his wife, the gunmen opened fire, shooting him in the right hand. He was left bleeding profusely at the scene as the kidnappers whisked his wife away to an unknown destination. Gunmen Kidnap Police Inspector, Daughter, Student and Others in Edo Attacks; Demand ₦100m Ransom"

  Suspected kidnappers have struck twice in Akoko-Edo Local Government Area of Edo State, abducting five persons including a serving police officer in separate incidents that have heightened fears over rising insecurity in Edo North. The first attack occurred on February 8 at the Makeke Primary Health Centre in Makeke village, less than a kilometre from Ososo. Gunmen stormed the facility and abducted Tope Oriloye, a female secondary school student, and Samuel Ilesanmi, who had taken his sick child to the centre accompanied by his wife. In a related but separate operation, another group of kidnappers invaded the home of Police Inspector Segun Obanowa in Auchi (from the Uma/Imoga area), abducting him, his wife, and their daughter.
