Iconic fashion designer Valentino Garavani is dead

Iconic Italian fashion designer, Valentino Garavani has died  at the age of 93.

The deceased’ foundation confirmed the development in a statement posted on Instagram on Monday, disclosed that he died peacefully at his Rome residence while surrounded by family.

“The Fondazione Valentino Garavani and Giancarlo Giametti announces the passing of its founder, Valentino Garavani, who peacefully passed away today at his residence in Rome, surrounded by the love of his family,” the statement reads.

Valentino is widely regarded as one of the most iconic fashion designers of all time.

He started the Valentino fashion house, which became known for shaping modern luxury and haute couture.

Valentino was born on May 11, 1932, in Voghera, Italy. He became interested in fashion at a young age and later studied at top schools in Milan and Paris, where he learned from leading couture houses.

He opened Valentino in Rome in 1960 and soon gained international attention for his precise tailoring, romantic designs, and elegant style.

His designs came to represent glamour, femininity, and timeless beauty. The color “Valentino Red” became one of the most famous shades in fashion history.

Valentino designed clothes for many of the world’s most influential women, such as Jackie Kennedy, Audrey Hepburn, Elizabeth Taylor, and Princess Diana.

TDuring his career, he won many awards and honors for his work in fashion. Valentino retired from designing in 2008, but his influence remains strong.
