Vice President Kashim Shettima has returned to Abuja following a successful week-long diplomatic and economic engagement in Guinea-Conakry and Switzerland.

The trip began with Shettima representing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the presidential inauguration of Guinea-Conakry's leader, President Mamadi Doumbouya, in Conakry. This high-level representation underscored Nigeria's commitment to strengthening bilateral ties with neighboring West African nations and supporting democratic transitions in the region.

From Guinea-Conakry, the Vice President proceeded to Davos-Klosters, Switzerland, where he led Nigeria's delegation at the 56th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF), held from January 19 to 23, 2026. During the forum, themed around global collaboration and economic resilience, Shettima participated in key sessions, bilateral meetings, and side events aimed at attracting investments, showcasing Nigeria's reforms, and repositioning the country on the global economic stage.

Notably, he formally opened the Nigeria House in Davos, a dedicated space for Nigerian engagements at the WEF, which served as a hub for networking with world leaders, investors, and policymakers. Upon his return to Abuja on Saturday, January 24, 2026, Vice President Shettima highlighted Nigeria's renewed prominence in international economic discussions, stating that the country is "firmly back on the global economic frontline" through proactive diplomacy and policy engagements under the Tinubu administration.

The missions aligned with broader objectives of enhancing Nigeria's foreign relations, promoting economic partnerships, and advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda on the international front
