Ebonyi Boundary Clash Horror: Army Intensifies Hunt to Recover Severed Heads of Beheaded Victims

 The brutal communal clash in Ebonyi State has escalated tensions over a long-standing boundary dispute between Okporojo village in Oso Edda (Edda Local Government Area) and Amasiri community (Afikpo North Local Government Area). The incident, which occurred around late January 2026, involved armed attackers who reportedly beheaded at least four residents, abducted others, set multiple houses ablaze, and caused widespread property destruction. Videos circulating on social media showed decapitated bodies and burning structures, heightening public outrage.

The Nigerian Army, through Lt. Col. Emmanuel Chielo, the Cantonment Commander at Nkwagu in Ebonyi State, has publicly vowed to recover the severed heads of the victims. In a recent press briefing, he emphasized that intensive operations are underway to restore peace in the affected "war zone," track down perpetrators (described by some sources as suspected warlords from Amasiri), and ensure the return of severed remains to allow for proper burials and closure for grieving families.
