Ogun Police Arrest Chinese Man for Alleged Rape of 23-Year-Old

Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested a Chinese national for allegedly raping a 23-year-old woman in the state.

The suspect, whose identity has been withheld pending further investigation and formal charges, was apprehended following a complaint lodged by the victim.

According to police sources, the incident reportedly occurred in one of the industrial or residential areas hosting expatriate workers, common in parts of Ogun State due to manufacturing hubs and Chinese-invested companies.

The victim reportedly reported the assault to authorities, prompting swift action by detectives who effected the arrest. Preliminary investigations indicate that the alleged offence took place under circumstances the police are still probing, including possible prior acquaintance or coercion.

The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) confirmed the arrest in a statement, emphasizing the command's zero-tolerance stance on sexual and gender-based violence.
