Swedish Man Suspected of Pimping Wife to Over 120 Men in Major Exploitation Case

 

Authorities in northern Sweden have revealed that a man in his 60s is suspected of ruthlessly exploiting his wife by facilitating paid sexual services with her for at least 120 men, according to the lead prosecutor.

The suspect, who has been in custody since late October, was reported to police by his wife herself. Investigators allege the offences occurred over a period exceeding three years, from around January 2022 until his arrest. Prosecutors are preparing charges of aggravated procurement (aggravated pimping) under Swedish law, which criminalizes the purchase of sex and profiting from or facilitating others' prostitution, while the act of selling sex is not illegal.

Prosecutor Ida Annerstedt described the case as large-scale exploitation, stating that the husband is believed to have "ruthlessly exploited his wife" for financial gain or other benefits. Authorities have identified over 120 men suspected of buying sexual services from the woman. At least two of those men have already been charged, with more charges expected.

The revelation came on February 16, 2026, when prosecutors publicly disclosed the scale of the alleged operation for the first time. The investigation highlights Sweden's strict stance on prostitution, where buyers and pimps face penalties, but sex sellers are viewed as victims rather than criminals.
