The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Tanko Ishaya, welcomed the new students and urged them to embrace the university's core values of discipline, dedication, and academic excellence. He noted that the ceremony was delayed due to challenges with the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS), which impacted timely registrations for some candidates. As registration concludes, the university anticipates full integration of the admitted cohort.

Nursing Induction Ceremony

In a related achievement, the university inducted 140 Nursing graduates into the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (N&MCN). This induction ceremony marks their official entry into the nursing profession, following completion of their Bachelor of Nursing Science programme.

The graduates were charged to uphold high standards of ethics, professionalism, and service delivery in healthcare—especially relevant amid Nigeria's ongoing efforts to address workforce challenges like brain drain in the health sector.

These dual events celebrate UNIJOS's role in expanding access to quality education and contributing to Nigeria's human capital development in critical areas.
