Cult Clash Escalates in Ojo, Lagos: Prosper (Azuka) Gunned Down by Vikings, Aye Strikes Back – Kills Ex-Eiye No.1 Hefty with Stones & Axes

 

The escalating cult violence in the Ojo axis of Lagos State has claimed multiple lives in a brutal cycle of retaliation between rival groups, primarily Aye (Black Axe/NBM), Eiye (Supreme Eiye Confraternity/ACN), and Vikings (De Norsemen Kclub of Nigeria/DNKI).

Initial Attack on Prosper (Azuka)

Around 4:00 PM yesterday at Alaba International Market in Ojo, near St. Patrick Church, a former Aye Number 1 figure known as Prosper (also called Azuka) was targeted. Prosper, described by sources as a phone dealer and a formidable member of the Aye confraternity, was riding on a motorcycle with a rider when attackers opened fire. Eyewitness accounts indicate he attempted to flee urgently, urging his rider to speed away.

The first shots missed Prosper as he dodged, but one stray bullet struck and instantly killed an innocent truck driver nearby. Undeterred, the assailants pursued and fatally shot Prosper. Vikings confraternity members later claimed responsibility for the killing, though initial reports pointed to Eiye involvement. Aye sources blamed both Eiye and Vikings, vowing swift retaliation. Prosper's birthday was approaching next Monday, and his traditional marriage was scheduled for the following month.

Aye's Retaliatory Strikes

That same night, Aye members launched revenge attacks across the Ojo area, including Satellite Town. In one of the most gruesome incidents, they tracked and killed a notorious former Eiye Number 1 known as Hefty in the Ijegun Egba area of Satellite Town, specifically on Esie Street. Hefty was widely regarded as one of the most feared and dangerous Eiye cultists in the region—someone even other hardened cultists avoided due to his long criminal history and involvement in prior clashes.

Attackers first shot him, but the bullet reportedly failed to penetrate. They then resorted to bludgeoning him to death with stones, axes, and other improvised weapons. Hefty had long been a high-priority target for Aye, with Naija Confra issuing a prior warning to him as far back as February 4, 2025.

Aye also carried out additional attacks that night, claiming the victims were Vikings members. However, Naija Confra has withheld labeling them as cultists pending full identity confirmation and verification.

Ongoing Tension and Warnings

The violence has intensified rivalries across Aye, Eiye, and Vikings lines, with all sides issuing threats of further reprisals. Subsequent reports indicate continued killings and attacks in areas like Satellite Town, Ajangbadi, and others within the Ojo LGA, including claims of multiple deaths in revenge operations. Police presence in the area remains reportedly weak, leaving residents vulnerable.

This cycle of revenge killings highlights the deadly consequences of cult involvement. Innocent bystanders, including the truck driver caught in crossfire, continue to pay the ultimate price.
