The Edo State Police Command has launched an investigation into a disturbing school bullying incident at Igbinedion Education Centre in Benin City, following a viral video that showed senior students physically assaulting and bullying a junior student.

A viral video that surfaced online depicted two male students beating, kicking, and stomping on a fellow student who was lying on the ground and crying in pain, while another recorded the act and appeared to plead for it to stop. The incident, which occurred within the school premises, sparked widespread public outrage and calls for accountability.

In response, the management of Igbinedion Education Centre conducted an internal probe and expelled the two students directly involved in the assault with immediate effect. The school emphasized its zero-tolerance policy on bullying, violence, harassment, and intimidation, stating that such behavior is "deeply disturbing" and contradicts the institution's values.
