Kaduna Govt Debunks Viral Claim of Gov Uba Sani Endorsing Political Aspirants

 

The Kaduna State Government has officially debunked and dismissed as false and misleading a viral claim circulating on social media that Governor Uba Sani has endorsed specific political aspirants, particularly for National Assembly positions ahead of future elections.

In a statement issued in Kaduna and signed by the Honourable Commissioner for Information, Malam Ahmed Maiyaki, the government clarified that Governor Uba Sani has not endorsed, anointed, or provided preferential support to any individual seeking elective office. The administration emphasized that the allegation is entirely baseless and a product of misinformation spread by faceless elements aiming to cause instability.

The statement stressed that the governor's current priority remains delivering good governance, implementing people-oriented policies, and improving the welfare of Kaduna residents, rather than engaging in premature political endorsements. It urged the public to disregard the false report in its entirety and to rely on verified information from official sources.

This clarification aligns with earlier remarks by Governor Uba Sani (reported in early March 2026), where he publicly stated he has no anointed or preferred candidates for the 2027 elections and primaries. He advised all aspirants to seek support directly from party members and affirmed he would respect the outcome of democratic processes within the All Progressives Congress (APC), while pledging support solely for President Bola Tinubu's re-election bid.

The government has consistently warned against peddlers of falsehoods and conflict merchants who use social media to spread rumors that could disrupt peace in the state.
