PDP’s end imminent as Bauchi Gov reportedly set to join APC

 

The Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) relevance may be coming to an end as the Chairman of its Governors’ Forum and Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has reportedly concluded plans to defect to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) this week, barring any unforeseen circumstances.623a1a

According to a THISDAY investigation reported via Arise Television and corroborated by multiple outlets, the terms of the defection were still being negotiated as of Saturday night. Multiple sources privy to the talks disclosed that Governor Mohammed had already met with President Bola Tinubu and APC leadership to signal his intention to join the ruling party.523c63

Mohammed is said to have been offered the APC senatorial ticket for Bauchi South and would receive the same allowances and privileges extended to other governors who previously defected to the APC.749669
