US-based Nigerian gay rights and immigration activist Edafe Okporo and his husband, Nick Giglio, have announced the end of their marriage after three years.

The couple, who tied the knot in New York in July 2022, filed for a no-fault divorce by mutual agreement. Okporo shared the news on his Instagram page on Friday, March 27, 2026, posting a photo of their intertwined hands alongside a joint statement.

In the statement, Okporo wrote:

“Nick and I have made the mutual decision to end our marriage. We have officially filed for a no-fault divorce by mutual agreement.
