The bereaved family of a Nigerian man, Emeka Christian Orji, who was allegedly k!lled by his friends in India, has urged him to avenge his d3ath

 

The bereaved family of Emeka Christian Orji, a 40-year-old Nigerian garment trader who was allegedly beaten to death by fellow Nigerians in Pune, India, on January 12, 2026, has made an emotional plea for justice — even directing it at the deceased himself.

In a video shared by his sister, Queen Uche, on April 15, 2026, family members, including Emeka’s wife, were seen addressing the late Emeka, urging him to “fight and hunt” his killers from beyond the grave. The family expressed deep pain and frustration over the circumstances of his death, which they described as a betrayal by people he considered friends.

According to reports, Emeka was assaulted during a gathering at the apartment of a Nigerian woman following a dispute linked to a romantic relationship. Police in Pune arrested two suspects — Chukwudi Okafor, 31, and Samuel Eze, 34 — for allegedly beating him to death. Efforts are reportedly ongoing to apprehend other possible accomplices, with up to four people believed to have been involved in the incident.

Emeka, who held a valid visa to stay in India until 2027, had gone to the gathering with friends for what was intended to be a small party. His body was recently repatriated to Nigeria for burial.

In her accompanying social media post, Queen Uche poured out her grief, stating: “Day by day, tears and pain is now my daily dose because of your demise, especially watching the video of how you were killed.” She vowed to fight for justice and lamented what she described as a pattern of Nigerians, particularly Igbos in the diaspora, turning against one another out of “greed, envy, jealousy and natural hatred.”

She added: “They may have succeeded in killing you Emeka, but they can’t escape their own death and it will be more painful and horrible… I miss you always Eze. You are gone but will never be forgotten.”

The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) has condemned the killing as “tragic and senseless.” In a statement, NiDCOM Chairperson Abike Dabiri-Erewa extended condolences to the family and called for a thorough investigation and justice.2375f2

The incident has sparked outrage online, with many Nigerians decrying violence among compatriots abroad and questioning the safety of citizens living in the diaspora.
